This is a viral disease transmitted by whiteflies, commonly affecting mung beans and black gram. Small chlorotic spots initially appear along the leaf veins, leading to interveinal yellowing (chlorosis) and eventual yellowing of the entire plant. The leaves become deformed and curled, while plant growth is stunted. If infection occurs during the vegetative stage, it can lead to reduced flowering and fruiting, significantly impacting yield. If the disease develops during pod formation, the pods may become misshapen, and seed development is severely affected.
