Gummy stem blight of cucurbits
Symptom
On the leaf margins and surfaces, grayish or rust-colored lesions initially develop, with small dark fungal spores visible within the lesions. When the stem is infected, dark brown lesions appear, often encircling the stem and causing wilting and eventual collapse of the plant. The gray lesions on the stem later turn whitish. Affected stem tissues frequently break apart, and rust-colored exudates may be observed oozing from the lesions. This disease is commonly observed during hot and humid conditions or under fields with high soil moisture.
