Mosaic Virus Disease
Symptom
The disease symptoms include mosaic or mottling on the leaves, development of yellow patches, leaf distortion, downward curling at the margins, shortened internodes and petioles resulting in stunted growth, reduced leaf size, and decreased flower and fruit production. Fruits may become deformed, undersized, or show abnormal development. In some cases, small green enations appear on the fruit surface, leading to distortion. Since the causal virus can be transmitted and spread by aphids, preventive measures should be taken in advance. The disease may also be disseminated through infected seeds.
