Onion leaf blight
Symptom
Initially appears as small oval or circular white leaf flecks, with greenish water-soaked margins. The centre of these lesions become straw coloured and sunken and as the disease continues to colonise the infected leaves they become blighted, shrivel until ultimately the whole leaf dies back. The central portion of the lesions darkens, and eventually turns black due to fungal spore production. In severe cases, the lesions may girdle the plant, leading to death of both leaves and stems.
