Damping-off
Symptom
It is caused by a fungus and occurs more frequently during warm and humid seasons. At the seedling stage, especially under high soil moisture conditions, the stem base in contact with the soil becomes soft and decayed, leading to plant death. When established in the field, the roots turn brown and rot. Use seed treatment fungicides and apply soil-applied fungicides for effective management.
