Bacterial Wilt

Symptom

Caused by bacteria, the disease typically begins with wilting in plants starting from the lower leaves in mature plants and from the upper leaves in young seedlings. The leaves droop while still green and exhibit progressive wilting. When the stem is cut open longitudinally, brown discoloration can be observed in the vascular tissue. If a section of the stem is placed in a clear water, milky, whitish bacterial ooze, resembling milk color can be seen exuding from the cut surface, indicating bacterial infection.
