Angular leaf spot/ Bacterial blight
Symptom
The disease is caused by bacteria. Initially, small water-soaked or greasy spots appear on the leaves. As these spots enlarge, they form angular brown or black lesions that are delimited by the leaf veins. In severe infections, the lesions coalesce, dry out, and cause the leaves to wither and fall. The infection may spread to the petioles, turning them black. Water-soaked lesions are also observed on young pods, which later develop into brown or black lesions with slight depressions. Eventually, the affected pods rot.
