Symptom
Damage is particularly severe in young transplanted plants and young plants often fail to recover. Leaf tubes or bound leaves with larvae and pupae inside can be found on the plants. The large larvae feed edgewise on the margins and tips of the leaves, removing large sections of leaf tissue to the midrib.
