Rice Leaf Butterfly

Symptom

The female butterfly lay eggs singly on the leaves. After hatching, the larvae damage the rice plants by chewing the leaves until only the midrib remains. Pupation takes place on the leaves. The chrysalis (pupa) is attached to the underside of the leaf by its causal end hanging upside down.
