Rice Caseworm

Symptom

Feeding damage includes cutting off the leaf tips to make leaf cases. Neonate larvae feed on the surface of tender leaves. Older larvae are enclosed within the case and feed by scraping leaf tissues or biting through leaf sheaths. They also feed on the surface of older leaves. It usually appears ladder-like. The crop usually recovers well after an early infestation, but maturation may be uneven. When spraying, remove all water from the floor and then spray.
