Basal Rot
Symptom
Basal rot disease is caused by Fusarium. Symptoms often begin with yellowing and drying of the leaf tips, with coloration ranging from pinkish to dark brown. In some cases, white fungal mycelium may be observed at the base of the bulb. When the bulb is cut vertically, brown discoloration can be seen in the basal area. The disease is more severe under conditions of excessive soil moisture.
