Damping-off

Symptom

When seedlings are planted too densely, water-soaked lesions appear at the base, causing softening, rotting, and eventual collapse of the plants. Both pre-germination seeds and young seedlings can be affected. The disease can damage plants up to the 3–4 leaf stage. The pathogen is transmitted through infected seeds and infested soil.
