Black cutworm
Symptom
Infestation begins vegetative stage. They laid eggs near stalks. Newly-hatched larvae reach and feed on leaves tip. Larger larvae immediately reach below the soil surface and completely cut through stalks. That may cause plant to be wilt and die.
