Cutworm
Symptom
Cutworms typically hide during the day beneath soil cracks, plant debris, or organic matter near the base of the plants. At night, they emerge to feed on and damage crops. Mature cutworms are often found deeper in the soil. Young larvae feed on the leaves, while older larvae cut and sever the plant stems near the soil surface. They stay near the plant base and chew through stems during nighttime, often leading to the death of young plants. Occasionally, they may also burrow into and feed on tubers close to the soil surface, such as potatoes.
Note: Apply the insecticide by thoroughly wetting the base of the plants.
