Northern leaf blight

Symptom

Symptoms usually appear first on the lower leaves. Leaf lesions are long 
(1 to 6 inches) and elliptical nectrotic that form parallel to leaf vein. Severe infection may blight entire leaves and die. Lesions may occur on the outer husk of ears. 2 weeks before or after tasseling, infection can cause reducing kernal filling.
