Beet Armyworm

Symptom

Newly hatched larvae feed in groups but become solitary as they grow older, separating from the clusters to start feeding alone. During the day, they hide in soil, garbage,  at the base of the plant and comes out in the evening and feed and destroy the crops until the sun rise. The first and second instars feed the epidermis on the underside of the leaves, so they often have white patches on the leaves. Late instar larvae feed the leaves until only leaf veins remain.
