Bacterial Leaf Streak
Symptom
The symptom appear on the leaf blades. A first, tiny, translucent, water-soaked streaks appear between the veins. The lesions enlarge lengthwise and may also advanced laterally over the larger veins. Bacterial exudates appear on the surface of lesions under humid conditions and dry up to form very small, yellow beads. They are often numerous on the linear lesions. Old lesions become light brown. On susceptible varieties a yellow or orange halo may appear around the lesions. At the later stages of disease development, entire leaves turn brown and die. They become bleached and appear grayish-white and are colonized by many saprophytic organisms. At this stage the disease is indistinguishable from bacterial blight.
