Red Spider Mite
Symptom
This pest commonly occurs during hot, dry seasons or periods of drought. It primarily attacks mature leaves of grapevines and can be identified by the presence of tiny, reddish spider mites visible to the naked eye. Early symptoms include a fine, whitish powdery appearance on the leaf surface, resembling a thin layer of dust. The mites are usually found along the midrib and veins on the upper side of the leaves. By sucking plant sap, they cause progressive discoloration, with leaves turning from green to yellowish-brown, eventually leading to premature leaf drop.
