Red spider mite/ Broad mite
Symptom
Infestation is more prevalent during hot and dry season. By feeding on the sap from the underside of young leaves, pests cause the leaf margins to dry out and become deformed. Affected leaves may curl downward, turn coppery or purplish in color, and become hardened and brittle, with shortened internodes. In cases of severe infestation, plants become stunted growth, and premature dropping of young pods occurs, leading to a significant reduction in yield.
